BTEC Questions on the corse

What is the title of the BTEC qualification you are studying?

The qualification is called BTEC Level 3 Creative Media Production.

How long will it take you to complete this qualification?

the qualification will take me two years at school to finish.

How many units will you study in total?

 For this study there will be 7 units i have to complete.

How many of them are mandatory and what does mandatory mean?

In the studie there is three mandatory units. Mandatory means that it is not optional and must be done.

What are the titles of the mandatory units and when (in the year) will you study them?

the mandatory units that i have to do this year school in year 12 are Unit 1: Pre-Production Techniques and Unit 2: Communication Skills for Creative Media Production. In year 13 i have Unit 3: research techniques for the creative media industries.

What are the main topics of each mandatory unit? (use the specs to research this)

There are 3 main topics in the Unit 1, which are understanding requirements for a specific  media production, Be able to prepare pre-production documentation for a specific media production and be able to use pre-production planning for a specific media production. For Unit 2 there are also 3 main topics to follow, being about to extract information from written sources, to create a report in a media production context, and to be able to present media production proposal using relevant technology. Final in unit 3 there are also 3 topics that i will have to, Understand the nature and purposes of research in the creative media industries, be able to use a range of research methods and techniques and be able to present results of research.

How many optional units will you have to study and what does optional mean?

i will be doing four optional units. Optional mean that i have to choice out of a number of units that i will studie for the course.

What are the titles of the optional units you will study and when (in the year) will you study them?

i will be doing in year 12, Unit 23: Multi-Camera Techniques as well as Unit 29: Music video production. In year 13 i will be studding Unit 27: Factual Programme Production Techniques for television. Unit 30: Advertisement Production for television.

What are the main topics of each optional unit? (use the specs to research this)

in unit 23 i have to, Understand Programme Formats that apples muti-camera production, plan a multi-camera production and be able to perform an operational role in a multi-camera production In unit 29 i will apply my skills to,understand the reason for music videos, understand the styles, conventions and techniques of music videos, plan my own new music video production for a specific music track and to be able to work to finish production of a music video. Unit 27 will include me to be able to, understand issues relating to factual programming for television, know how codes and conventions of factual programming for television, plan and research a factual programme for television, produce a factual programme for television. Lastly for Unit 30 i will need to understand and know, about the structures and techniques of television advertisements, originate a develop an idea for television advertisement, produce a television advertisement and be able to reflex upon my own television advertisement production work.

What media production skills will you be developing on this course?

i will be developing, communication skills, research skills using a variety of methods, I.C.T skills using a variety of programs, piratical skills using different techniques, presentation skills using variety of formats and organisational skills.

What transferrable personal skills will you be developing on this course?

i will personally working on my confidence skills and trying to speak out or act more in units that involve me being on camera or speaking on camera. Another skill i will be developing is my teamwork skills as i genially don't work in group often and it good to be about to work with people.

Give two questions that you would like to know more about in terms of CMP, BTEC, your course or anything else related to the subject.

i would like to know the two following things:
1) is there another course that follows this one? (like a BTEC lv4 or another sort of media production course)
2) what type of jobs would the BTEC help me get into.

My Media Summer

- Films

over the summer i had watched a few films. when i was in turkey i  downloaded a lot of film onto my Ipad to watch while I'm there. I watched; The Dictator, 21 Jump Street, Ted, Inbetweeners Movie, Horrible Bosses, Bruno, Project X and Mr Poppers Penguins. They are all comedy films and apple to my age group. I most Enjoyed Film out of the two films i watched this summer was 21 Jump Street and Horrible Bosses.

Bo Ningen

- Songs

Close to the end of the summer i went to the 1 2 3 4 festival. it had quite a few bands i never heard of before such as Bo Ningen. They are
 a very energetic Japanese Band that created a big energy flow that turned into a mosh pit.

- TV/Radio Programmes

In the summer i started listening to EpicRadio. A radio station online that is active though Itunes or Steam games. this radio has different times such as Metal Monday or Pop hour. it apples to me because i can vote and suggest and request songs to be played and do shootouts. i Enjoy the presenters and the songs so it apples to me though gamer respective and general respective 

- Websites

Over the summer i spent a lot of times on websites. i think this is because it apples to my age and generation to use a lot of gadgets and Internet social websites. I spent time on Facebook socializing with friends and planning events of Group pages. I used youtube to watch Weekly shows such as RayWilliamJohnson =3. I also watched a bit of anime, i watched mostly comedy genre anime with some supernatural and adventure ones. this appeals to me because i am personally into mystical ideas and everyone likes comedy shows.
