Edit Workshop Evaluation

EVALUATION

How did you use 180 degree rule, rule of thirds & match on action?

The 180% rule is when you keep the view of the camera on one side of 2 people. I kept to this rule when doing my filming by recording the on one side of the table when recording the conversation.

The rule of thirds is when you keep the eye level of a person a third of the way down the screen or when you focus on a landscape you keep the horizon like in the top third if focus on the ground and the bottom third if focusing on the sky. i kept to this rule most of the time but it could be slightly off at times.

I successfully did match on action, this is when there is a action in two shot that at different views which change though the action. i did this with the pulling out the chair and when the door opens and closes.
What challenges did you face during production? What you you change if you were to film again?
though out the production i found that we had to do a lot of takes when it came to dialogue. i think this was because we didn't make a script and improvised on the day. This took up a lot of time to get right. The way i would fix this is by writing a script as we did the storyboard.
Another challenge we had was keeping the environment the same when we shot on another day. The shots when we did retakes look wrong because of different clothing or props were is wrong places. This could of been resolved by checking with previous footage's to match.

What challenges did you face during post-production? What you you change if you were to edit again?

The challenges i found doing in the post-production were, working with footage that was hard or practically impossible to work together with. i would sort this out by making sure i shoot each shot right and follow though the shots so there more to work with and make it look more natural.

What are the overall strengths of your work? why?

I found editing a strength of mine as i have used Imovie many times before and i quickly got the hang of the new options i haven't used before. I got on with my group well and we cooperated with decisions so there was no problems or shyness when recording the footage.

What are the overall weaknesses of your work? why?

my strongest weaknesses in my work was probably making sure the shot have everything we needed in them for when we edited, this became a big problem when it came to editing because we had to re-shoot a lot of shots and we needed the environment to look the same, which would be difficult to do.

What overall Improvements would you make to your work? why?
Overall if i did this work again i would definitely make sure i improved in my production work. This is mainly to do with not having the right or Enough footage for my editing. I would also focus on knowing a script to say if i am on camera because it took us a long time to film only a few shots.
